Advertising about climate change and its consequences is one of the effective pillars in the field of reducing damages caused by climate change and managing climate-related crises. In addition to mass media, the information dissemination arms of governments, especially the public relations of climate and meteorological authorities, play a determining role in this area. In Iran, the Meteorological Organization, as the responsible body for meteorology and atmospheric sciences and the national focal point for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, has important responsibilities in this awareness-raising effort. This research, through library studies and questionnaires from experts in this field, investigates the tasks and activities that the public relations of the Meteorological Organization of the country can undertake to help in advertising the consequences of climate change and managing crises arising from weather and climate-related hazards. These activities are mainly divided into two parts related to meteorological hazards and non-meteorological crises. The results show that suitable infrastructures and mechanisms for information dissemination in the field of climate and weather hazards have been observed. Alongside modern communication tools, these infrastructures can play an important role in expanding effective climate change information dissemination. These tools also greatly assist in the effectiveness of weather warnings and climate risk management crises.
